Management Accountant

The Need-to-Knows

• Reporting to: Divisional Financial Controller and Finance Director
• Location: Liverpool and Belfast
• Working hours: Full time

The Role

The role will be to manage all aspects of the finance function plus to oversee the administration function (billing and supplier invoice processing).

It is a regional role being recruited in Liverpool and Belfast, they will manage a team of 5 accounts staff plus oversee 3 admin staff. Their main KPI’s will be the timely and accurate preparation of management accounts, prompt debt collection, prompt billing of sales invoices (to an extent this will be an operational KPI but they will monitor it), effective management of the purchase ledger.

Internally your key contacts will be – The divisional and group finance teams, operational teams in Belfast, Cork and Dublin, senior management.

Externally – customer and supplier base, auditors, revenue services

The Day-to-Day

• Full production of the monthly management accounts.
• Balance sheet reconciliations.
• Managing a purchase ledger team of two; purchase ledger reviews and payment approvals.
• Managing a sales ledger team of two; aged debt and credit monitoring.
• Managing internal and external compliance requirements.
• Monitoring the administration function.
• KPI reporting.
• Full production of the annual budget and the April and August forecasts.
• Dealing with revenue services; tax payments and submitting VAT returns.
• Dealing with requests from senior management.
• Managing internal audits and the year-end external audit.
• Foreign currency hedging and treasury management.
• Other ad hoc finance tasks as required.

The Person

Essential; experience in a similar management accounts role. Excel proficiency.

Ideal; experience of multi-currency businesses.
